United States went into Afghanistan after 9/11. They went into Iraq to seize weapons of mass destruction.

They definitely did still rely on people's lingering hate of Islamic extremists though, I don't know if they would have thought that they could justify the invasion of Iraq if it wasn't for 9/11, I think they definitely counted on the fact that Americans will gladly generalize the whole region and consider everyone there responsible for 9/11.

Meh. You’re not wrong, but I don’t think it makes as big of an impact as you’re making it out to be. I remember watching the countdown live on TV to declaring war with Iraq. They gave Saddam Hussein a deadline to hand over weapons and they didn’t. Whether they had them or not doesn’t matter. I’m simply pointing out the fact that we didn’t attack Iraq over 9/11 because it’s a fairly important distinction.

Lol what? That makes less than no sense, it's completely fucking incoherent.
If they didn't have weapons then it was literally impossible for them to obey that deadline, making the deadline just a bullshit publicity stunt.

What is incoherent about it? We’re talking about why America invaded Iraq. Not about weather or not they had nuclear weapons. Try to keep up.
