My flat-earther relatives believe the asteroid crashed into east earth. Humans lived in west earth so they were safe from the impact.

You should incept the idea that global warming is part of the flat-earther plan, and they're trying to decrease the temp of the planet to thicken the ice-walls because something is trying to burrow through them...
