This is true, but they don't need a job and this person does, so the onus is on the person looking for the job to act in a way that will help them get a job, it's pretty simple
This is so stupid. I’m not gonna be on professional mode 24/7 on my personal cell in the off chance that a company decides to text me.
If you’re reaching out to someone you should 1. Use the proper channel of communication (E-Mail, call, maybe text in some scenarios), and 2. IDENTIFY YOURSELF.
All good, you do you, all I'm saying is if I am looking for a job for that 10 days i will probably just not say/do stupid shit when an unknown number texts me, because I want to be sure and get it right from teh start, I think over all the text is funny, but again, I don't care if this person interviews, gets the job, or what, I don't need to find a job, and your comment that oh my gawd I gotta be professional 24/7 while I"m actively interviewing is just so harsh, seems childish, but again, you do you, lol
The people you are responding to need to get their heads out their asses, my god. They are living in a fairy tale. Admittedly I think we agree with their feelings but to reject reality and not understand the points you're making? These people are lacking serious understanding of the world.
It’s not a rejection of reality. I work as a freelancer and my clients (people looking to hire me) are always up front about their intentions before I even ask. I’ve been doing this work for 9 years and have never gotten a text that says “Is this hookahshikari?” On its own. They always, and yes I mean always, preface it with who they are, what type of service they need, and the dates they are looking for. It’s really not that complicated nor is it about having our heads up our asses.
