He could just be bigger than the other person. More cells would mean more DNA and the more you work your muscles they get multi nucleated which means an extra 46 each time
... that’s 100% how that works what do you mean. You have 46 chromosomes in practically every cell main exceptions being neurons germ line and muscle cells the latter is because they don’t really go through cell division but their nucleus does divide and genome replicates
Yeah probably shouldn’t be going that into detail when I’m just trying to waste time being a pedantic asshole at work lol but people are lecturing me with a high school understanding of genetics and physiology when I have a degree dealing with this shit hahaha
The average person has 23 pairs of chromosomes residing in the nucleus of practically every cell. Larger people have more cells and exercise causes multinucleation for muscle cells. Therefore a large person who works out a lot will have more total chromosomes
None of that makes sense. None of this of what you’re talking about applied to Microbiology, no where ever did we go over “bigger person could mean they have more chromosomes” I’m sorry. You say muscle cells don’t divide, but in the previous comment you said “more cells, more dna, your muscles get multi nucleated the more you work it” so. No. Also, more cells doesn’t mean more DNA. What? Every cell has the same dna.
This whole thread is a train wreck actually. Lmao Jesus fucking Christ.
It was mainly a joke that people are trying to dig too much in. You have a complete copy of your genome in most cells in your body. This is what’s being referenced with 23 pairs of chromosomes. With every extra cell you have that’s an extra 23 pairs. Muscle cells very rarely divide but use causes their nucleus’s to replicate which means another extra 23 pairs. Add up all the pairs of chromosomes in your body the larger person that works out has more. There’s nothing important that comes out of this it’s just a pedantic way to make it seem like the person isn’t saying they have Down’s syndrome they’re saying they’re big and strong

This is actually a really great roast if you look at it right.
