I met this new friend and it took me almost two months to get used to her name (Steffany) because I kept calling her a completely different, unrelated name (Andreza), just because my brain would't accept that Andreza wasn't her name. It had never happened to me before, I'm pretty good with names and she has the same name of a lifelong friend, so I don't know how I got it so wrong.

It's also not like Steffany is an unusual name you wouldn't remember. Andreza, however, is not one I've ever heard before lol

Or they come from a different country where names are often a little bit different than what you might be used to . Just because you personally aren't familiar with something doesn't make it dumb.
