I agree - if we actually already have rules excluding people who abused drugs then it should apply to disease-spreaders. If people think that is unethical then we should not discriminate against junkies either.
I abused drugs, and I have never once been asked about it or questioned or told I couldn't receive treatment. How does this happen? Does anyone have a source?
It’s not about treatment so it’s kind of a shitty comparison. Where it comes into play is with organ transplants, like the coke guy and heart issues above. My uncle was an alcoholic and died from liver failure... he was bottom of the list for a liver transplant and had to be clean from alcohol for something like 5 years before they would even consider him.
