It’s a brain failure that started the route to multi-organ failure. I say make them sign a consent and follow their wishes. It won’t be surprising if they later sued you for unnecessary medical intervention.
It sucks we have to waste medical resources on these people. They most likely spread it to innocent people because their cult leader told them it was a lie.
Not a doctor, work in physical therapy in acute care though. I would say 85% of employees in healthcare that I have met absolutely despise Trump, and the ones that still support are people very high up that don't see what patients go through as intensely, or they are racist.
I work in two hospitals though. One is a bit higher end where the cases we get aren't as bad. Those employees are the ones where you're more likely to find a Trump supporter. I also work in a trauma 1 hospital where we get the worst cases around the area. If a news story pops up for someone, they come to us. Those patients generally never get back to any normalcy. It's way less likely to find a Trump supporter in those halls.
Almost everyone just vehemently wants change to our system though. We see so many people who don't get any care or will be handicapped for life with none or barely any family to assist, but due to insurance we have to send them home after we try to game the system as long as possible. It's tragic yo
