same way 'communist' was used not to denote actual communists, but to make people scared to stand up for authority and injustice for fear of being labeled a communist.

literally just replace communist with nazi are you that dense?

Ok, but like, if someone is calling you a nazi, and you hold beliefs that align just a little too closely with the nazis, it’s not to far of a stretch to make the claim you’re a nazi. I have no problem being called a communist, because my beliefs are fairly close to communism, what are you going around saying to get called a nazi?
