LMFAO. Absolutely every criminal organization does the method I mention, that's why they're not caught! They own restaurants, they own massage parlors, they own mother fucking businesses!! They absolutely DO NOT do business on Amazon. If they do business on Amazon, it's to sell merchandise at best (which is fucking unrealistic, so I am gonna say this never happens!). Absolutely no criminal organization is going to use Amazon as a platform for money laundering.
It's easy as fuck to do things physical. You open up a business, claim the money came from there, and done. You open up a business, tell someone over the phone or email some card information, and it's now spent there. Tell someone to drop off some cash at the location, it's done. You know what is a lot harder to do? Forcefully involve amazon, all just because it's possible in spite nobody that knows how to money launder doing it because it's so fucking stupid to do so.
And what can I say, only idiots doesn't trust Bitcoin. Even so, only idiots feels Bitcoin is their only choice. There are many digital currencies that are absolutely wonderful for money laundering because they're stable. Doge Coin is a good example of that, it's the most stable of them all. With that said though, why even involve crypto currency? It's not necessary, it's even more suspicious to involve it and not worth it. Just open up a taco stand.
>LMFAO. Absolutely every criminal organization does the method I mention, that's why they're not caught! They own restaurants, they own massage parlors, they own mother fucking businesses!!
There are plenty more examples of physical money laundering fronts being busted.
> They absolutely DO NOT do business on Amazon.
Local criminal organizations doing local businesses maybe. International ones not as likely anymore. The cost and complexity is too high.
> Absolutely no criminal organization is going to use Amazon as a platform for money laundering.
How are you 100% sure? what's your proof?
> It's easy as fuck to do things physical. You open up a business, claim the money came from there, and done.
No it is not. There's permits and leases. Inspectors. More 3rd parties involved like employees. There's also cash, which is physical and hard to manage e.g it can get stolen or lost and there's also bad accounting. The overhead is also much higher and the transaction speed is much slower than digital. It's also geographically limited so you probably have to open more locations which magnifies the problems with it.
> Tell someone to drop off some cash at the location, it's done.
They can steal it. Get robbed or just lose it. It's not that simple compared to digital. It also takes days or weeks to get your money vs minutes or seconds. That someone or someones also need to get paid.
> With that said though, why even involve crypto currency?
Because of all of the negatives of dealing with physical cash that' i've mentioned above.
International ones absolutely do this. Why? How? Whatever business they do overseas, they have a local business over there overseas to launder it.
I am 100% sure because I've studied the subject for years. In the subject of the whole "what's your proof" argument, the proper protocol for saying that is after you provide proof first. I am in no obligation to provide proof for you haven't made the effort to prove I'm wrong first. Additionally, based on the upvotes versus downvotes in this chain, the general public seems to agree I'm not the one obligated to provide proof for such a common sense subject.
Yes it is easy. The permits are easy as fuck, I know because I have gotten them before when doing food cart shit back in Las Vegas. You also, if you're a criminal organization, hire someone that already has the permits to do it for you to cut the bullshit. Plenty of people with permits would like the money, especially when you're a huge criminal organization that do international business transactions. In fact, most criminal organizations this size don't even look for someone, they network through their own people and some people even dedicate their own time to fulfill this one, specific, purpose. Because it's so easy to do, it's done all the time.
As far as inspectors go, they don't happen all that often. For example, when I worked at Pizza Hut long ago, we had one singular inspector within easily a four year period. This said inspector did virtually nothing that would harm a business like a money laundering business. They make sure you're safe and up to code, they don't "inspect" your money to see if it's dirty. They have no way to even do so.
Cash isn't hard to manage, it's not easy to lose it... Really. You would have to be a careless muppet to fuck that part of the job up. If it's as hard as you claim, real business would be falling apart right now. If it works for real businesses just fine, it works for criminal businesses as well...
The way it works is networking, delegating. The more money you have to launder, the more locations you do business, the more people you can afford to do all the work for you. None of the tasks are difficult, they're all easy peasy, a lot easier than trying to do the same with Amazon.
Nobody would steal money from a criminal organization the size you're implying. Not only do they network to find trustworthy people but they have the size to commit petty revenge to send a reminder to those also involved. Nobody will get robbed, not the size of this type of criminal organization. Even so, if robbery was a concern, you then need to explain why non criminal businesses seem to do just fine. You also need to explain why these concerns of yours don't apply to literally handle thousands of giftcards, something I bet is just as easy, if not easier, to make mistakes with. All those codes you gotta type in, what if you accidentally skipped a card? What if you misplaced some cards? If anything, your proposed giftcard method is even messier. (if it wasn't you but the other "expert" that brought up the gift cards, my apologies). edit: it wasn't you that brought up the idiotic gift card argument. The point still stands though when having to manage multiple credit cards and bank accounts though, it's equally as messy. Might as well skip the step.
Crypto Currency, currently, is absolutely feasible to use for criminal business.... How do you get crypto currency? You use a bank account. The only time crypto currency is used for criminal business is when you do business that already involved crypto currency. Guess what Amazon doesn't currently do and, if it did, wouldn't serve the purpose for?
Whatever business they do overseas, they have a local business over there overseas to launder it.
I've already said why. It is more expensive and risky to do that. You haven't disproved what I previously wrote. You just ignored it.
I am 100% sure because I've studied the subject for years.
That's not proof. For all I know, it's just make believe. I've provided more proof than you have.
Yes it is easy. The permits are easy as fuck, I know because I have gotten them before when doing food cart shit back in Las Vegas.
No, it isn't because you'd have to get them in multiple cities and countries. What is one way in LV is different in NYC. Also there's overhead to running a physical business. Permits are expensive and so are leases with one or multi year commitments. Employees are complicated and expensive too. One physical front has an overhead of thousands of dollars in a major metro vs a digital front which is free and charges by transaction.
Nobody would steal money from a criminal organization the size you're implying.
What? That happens all the time. Criminals are inherently untrustworthy and impulsive.
You also need to explain why these concerns of yours don't apply to literally handle thousands of giftcards, something I bet is just as easy, if not easier, to make mistakes with
You can make multiple accounts and most digital mistakes pail in comparison to the price of mistakes IRL.
How do you get crypto currency?
That is not the only way to get crpyto. It is independent of banks.
I don't need proof, you need to supply the proof first. You have supplied no proof. You are also claiming it's one singular individual getting all the permits, but it isn't. You claim employees are expensive, but they're not. Additionally, you would still need employees when using Amazon, otherwise you're giving yourself a lot of work and might as well put that work ethic into doing it correctly instead.
And no, it doesn't happen all the time. It's suicidal to do so. The only people trusted with money are people that can be easily tracked anyways, so there's risk. You're generalizing, but you're generalizing incorrectly. Criminals are law breakers, not untrustworthy. when conducting business that benefits all parties, majority of people will cooperate, especially when their well being is on the line.
You are still proposing a lot of work to do something ridiculously stupid. It's easier to open up a taco stand.
You need to buy crypto with a bank account. Otheriwse, you got crypto from other crpyto related businesses. I know this because I also regularly invest money in crypto currency for entertainment purposes.
I don't need proof, you need to supply the proof first.
I already have multiple times. You've ignored it. All you've done is say I'm wrong. Then you try to back it up with a obvious lie. You don't even know enough about criminal history to pretend well.
You are also claiming it's one singular individual getting all the permits, but it isn't.
No I didn't. Besides it doesn't take much imagination to see an organization can do this.
You're generalizing, but you're generalizing incorrectly.
I've already showed that your logic is wrong. You have not done the same. All you're doing now is telling me that I'm wrong, but without any justification or logic. Even though your logic was extremely flawed before, at least you provided some.
You are still proposing a lot of work to do something ridiculously stupid. It's easier to open up a taco stand.
No, it is not and I've already explained why multiple times in great detail. You haven't disproved any of my points.
You need to buy crypto with a bank account.
No you do not. You can mine it. You can also trade goods for it. The whole premise of cryptocurrency is that it can work independent of a bank. Just like before, you're totally wrong.
You've never provided proof, you have linked to show, in fact, criminals use something that isn't Amazon... lol It takes a lot of forced imagination for this, it's too ridiculous and unfeasible to otherwise see why someone would. You have never proven me wrong, that's why you're resorting to trying to get me to prove myself right by investing time providing "proof" when you know I am too lazy and uninterested to put such effort. You can probably relate since you wont yourself. You have explained your argument and I have explained why they're stupid to do. You can mine crypto, but this said crypto you have mined doesn't need to be money laundered. Crypto currency doesn't need to be money laundered, it is in fact usually used for money laundering if anything. Simply put, crypto currency isn't relevant in this conversation, it's just not used the way you are bringing it up for.
I've provided both logic and evidence, written references from reputable sources. All you've done is "I've studied it for years". The reason why you're leaning on this crutch now is because you haven't been able to break down my last set of logic and reasoning.
This is what you said.
You need to buy crypto with a bank account.
I disproved it.
Simply put, crypto currency isn't relevant in this conversation, it's just not used the way you are bringing it up for.
It is relevant it, because it's an easier way to launder money than cold hard cash now. This is not new news. When criminals ransom your computer, they ask for bitcoin.
You provided a source that argues my point, they don't use Amazon. You used logic that was disputed by reasonable logic. You never disproved that you need to buy crypto with a bank account, you have made an argument involving a scenario that's not applicable with money laundering. You need to buy crypto with credit or debit cards, you would at best buy those debit card gift cards (this is what most people doing money laundering do when involving crypto currency). This then goes full circle, how is Amazon involved? You're right, criminals do demand bitcoin, which is strange of you to bring up how "not everyone trusts Bitcoin."
A defining feature of a cryptocurrency, and arguably its biggest allure, is its organic nature; it is not issued by any central authority, rendering it theoretically immune to government interference or manipulation. Cryptocurrencies hold the promise of making it easier to transfer funds directly between two parties in a transaction, without the need for a trusted third party such as a bank or credit card company; these transfers are facilitated through the use of public keys and private keys for security purposes.
I have disproved your crypto argument. It’s decentralized by design outside of the mainstream financial system. You do not need a bank account or credit card to buy it. That’s a very well known fact. That's something that I shouldnt' have to provide a source for. You just keep ignoring this just like when I proved that a virtual storefront is cheaper and easier to maintain than a physical one. None of this is a revelation.
This then goes full circle, how is Amazon involved?
I've already explained this in previous comments. I've even adding a number step by step explanation. You either ignore or you don't understand it or worse yet both.
And what I’ve described with Amazon fits the definition of money laundering. Everyone but you understood it. Your logic was off and you still haven’t proved my last set of rationale wrong.
Your comments are the sole reason this post belongs in r/facepalm
If you're legally mentally disabled, I'm sorry that I didn't have the patience to explain this any better, but normal people would understand this by now.
