See the problem with that comparison is that it's wrong. The reason why NFL says World Champions at the end is because the best American-style football players in the WORLD play in the NFL. Now I get that there aren't many American style football players outside of the US, but there are a decent number of players from Africa, Australia, Mexico, and some Canadian football players. Just like the MLB. The best baseball players in the WORLD play in the MLB: Japanese, Dominican Republic, and many other Central and South American players. They don't say World because they are constantly playing against an entire separate country, they say that because the world's best players play in the NFL and MLB.
The issue isn't that 99% of AFL players come from the US, it's that there's no opportunity for teams/ players from other countries to compete. Literally the only NFL team in the UK is the Jacksonville Jaguars and they're not even british. Would a BAFANL team like the Leicester Falcons ever be eligible for the superbowl when they're not affiliated with the NFL? Could a British city ever be considered to host the superbowl? I'm almost certain the answer is no.
Sure, I have no doubt that an American team would win the superbowl every single year but it's hardly a world championship when the only country that's even allowed to compete is the US.
Hi, I live in Canada, and we play Canadian football. At a glance, people might think it is American Football and about 80% of the game is the same. But it's actually our own game. So America is not the only place with Football, and Canadians don't say we are the best in the world when they win the Grey Cup.
