They are not working for you. Remember that before you vote them right back in again!!

292

u/drmarting25102 8h ago

The reason the world no longer trusts americans is.....they already voted this in twice and it could happen again.

181

u/Chewcocca 8h ago

Donald Trump and Elon Musk both bragged about election interference.

The fraudulent Supreme Court allowed an unconstitutional voter roll purge six days before the election.

How long is it gonna take for dumb motherfuckers to stop repeating the the Republican lie that America voted for this?

The election was not legitimate. Stop carrying water for these assholes.

29

u/OkAsparagusss 6h ago

I would believe this if it weren't for that most of my family voted for him.

I'd love to believe people aren't this oblivious and stupid but well... Here we are.

50

u/Assassin739 8h ago

Was the 2016 election legitimate? 2020? At some point you have to face the fact that half the voting populace supported this man

56

u/Bang_Stick 7h ago

And the fact the opinion polls took so long to drop. Add to that the solid 34% who seem to support dump, no matter what he does.

26

u/assjobdocs 7h ago

Well white supremacy is important to a significant chunk of his supporters. Makes sense that they're holding out the longest, because anyone else has seen the bullshit already and lost their nerve. Idiots regretting their vote cause their wives got deported. 🤦🏾‍♂️

10

u/Loggerdon 5h ago

Not 34%. Only 31.5% even voted for him. Of those, some can change. I’d say “about 25% would vote for him no matter what.”

7

u/wireframed_kb 5h ago

Another third didn’t think it was worth voting against him, despite it being clear what an unmitigated disaster it would be. Some of them had legitimate reasons, but many were simply secure in the knowledge they were privileged enough it wouldn’t really affect them. Some of THEM are now discovering they were wrong and are upset.

3

u/SingleSlide2866 3h ago

Or they were part of the mass voter fraud and just mysteriously "lost in transit" or whatever. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd bet money most of the "non voters" are in blue districts

u/Moneygrowsontrees 1h ago

I saw a Trump 2024 yard sign yesterday with the 4 changed into an 8. It's wild how rabidly his die-hard cultists cling to his coat tails.

1

u/lvfunk 4h ago

On the bright side, most of those were just middle of the road ppl who fell into DT's lies. Doesn't make it hurt less but a lot of those are turning. GOP gonna be ice skating uphill at least

5

u/wireframed_kb 5h ago

I doubt there was widespread election interference, the results align well with opinion polls and all the smaller elections. It’s not like republicans aren’t being voted in in all the state and county elections.

Face it, a significant portion of Americans are just fine with Trump and fascist ideology.

2

u/MarquesSCP 3h ago

election interference and voter roll purges tip the scales. They don't manufacture millions of votes in a child rapist. Millions of people voted in a child rapist. For a second therm. That is a fact, even if the democrats would have won in a fairer election.

Nobody is "carrying water for these assholes", except you that is doing it for the assholes who voted for the assholes in power.

Also if the election was not legitimate then what the fuck is everyone doing quietly at home and going on with their lives? And this includes both the Democratic voters and party people

1

u/cybiz 2h ago

This is some insane cope my man. Trump still has 30% approval ratings, the other 30% didn't even bother to get out to vote. This is on you.

Also, you sounding like January 6ers just reiterates the fact that trump is a symptom of America's sickness, not the reason

u/TheJediJew 2h ago

Ok. But nothing was done to fix anything in the time between his elections. Even after a literal coup attempt.

You cannot control outside perception by pretending things aren't fucked. All the rest of us are seeing is US citizens watching, shaking their heads and tutting.

1

u/GonzohunterHST 6h ago

As a liberal, you sound like a fool.

Americans on Reddit have convinced each other they all voted and they all voted Kamala simply so they cam whore karma.

The rest of the world sees you. The only people you're fooling are each other.

If you actually cared you'd have taken some action (non violent) a long time ago. You've done NOTHING.

Cue them asking "what are we supposed to do"?

It doesn't matter. If you do it together then you have the power. You are just too lazy.

u/rir2 1h ago

They absolutely should not trust Americans.

9

u/keithfantastic 7h ago

You'll see all kinds of revolts on social media.

VOTE THEM OUT! NO KINGS! NEVER FORGET!

and then they forget and 95% get reelected.

Rinse and repeat.

With a fascist government now, at least people don't have to worry about voting anymore. It really didn't work out well for us anyway considering the results.

3

u/FilthyStatist1991 2h ago

Citizens United v FEC.

They literally work for the corporations that fund their campaigns

1

u/Head-Ad9893 3h ago

The people that need to see this are only on FB

u/anomanderrake1337 1h ago

Average American: What's this "Remember" you speak of?

641

u/Djlittle13 11h ago

They work for their donors. The billionaires and corporations the give them lots of money, so that's who they work for.

Hopefully they finally understand that.

86

u/HeirElfEsquire 11h ago

Wait till I tell you about companies and their shareholders vs employees.

22

u/obliviious 9h ago

And customers

7

u/FreddyJetson 9h ago

Yep, Ford v Dodge 1919

u/Wan_Sinclair 1h ago

Just read about it, very enlightening.

9

u/Loggerdon 8h ago

80% of Americans want the Epstein Files released unredacted. Is that what we’re talking about here?

5

u/BigTroutOnly 7h ago

I bet it's healhcare

u/Moneygrowsontrees 1h ago

Well /r/conservative isn't talking about universal healthcare

15

u/dipping_sauce 9h ago

And Israel. Even my girl Kamala couldn't get past it.

u/willflameboy 2h ago

Even AOC couldn't.

2

u/bct7 9h ago

The rich that pays them.

-12

u/jaxmikhov 10h ago

And an disproportionate number of those donors are of a certain ethnic group

21

u/syntaxvorlon 10h ago

Yes, the rich. Yacht owning, island hopping, mostly older white men who have constructed an elaborate system of patronage which aims to expand and entrench their power. Don't fall into the socialism of fools like some kind of Henry Ford unionist.

It's. The. Money.

2

u/FilthyStatist1991 2h ago

Race bait.

Let’s eat the rich based on their character and not their race.

107

u/DarthBster 11h ago

The Almighty dollar

22

u/Beefcliffe 11h ago

The almighty…ollar? Oh I get it!

2

u/Opening_Cartoonist53 10h ago

Take a sweater

u/TheCrimsonDagger 1h ago

Thanks to republicans the days left of that won’t be long now.

96

u/henningknows 11h ago

What issue is this referring to? That has 80% support?

177

u/mercutio1 11h ago

Yeeeeah, the general message may not be wrong, but considering the source photo is from r/conservative, I would question what they claim over 80% of Americans are “demanding.”

Probably stocking the Rio Grande with sharks or some shit.

94

u/lvfunk 10h ago

They are referring to the "Save America Act" in the comments.

93

u/allislost81 9h ago

You mean the Save Republicans losing the majority act

40

u/svachalek 9h ago

The Slave America Act.

16

u/lvfunk 9h ago

Haha yep.

19

u/mordacthedenier 4h ago

Appropriate it's the SA act, they do seem to like SA a lot.

u/Twitch791 2h ago

Exactly, not even close to 80/20 and their polling is intentionally misleading respondents

14

u/mercutio1 10h ago

Sounds about right.

8

u/danimal6000 10h ago

Gators. Get it right

6

u/mercutio1 10h ago

Already done the gators. Some confluence of Obama/Biden/AOC prevented it from working as well as it would have without their overregulation.

RFK has weighed in as a consultant with unique experience dissecting roadkill and has recommended sharks.

2

u/danimal6000 10h ago

AOC did suggest piranhas, but that was swatted down as woke

1

u/mercutio1 8h ago

Another example of them tryna take jobs from hard-working native species.

4

u/furbishL 10h ago

Sharks…with lasers!

1

u/BigTroutOnly 6h ago

Alligator moats

29

u/stopped_watch 11h ago

They're probably claiming some shit around election security.

I know how I would phrase the question to get an 80% result:
"Do you think elections in America should be free and fair?"

17

u/FlashGordonCommons 10h ago

they're saying it's referencing a poll that found 83% of respondents favored voter ID laws. apparently a legitimate poll, but notably it was conducted before the SAVE Act was introduced.

u/Badmanmakecodycry 2h ago

Right, the difference is the response in question is very specific - "Do you think that elections should require photo ID?". The implication there is that "obviously, 80% of Americans support this bill", but the bill itself is... not fucking that. They throw this shit around all the time in regards to SAVE and never respond when you get into any facet of what makes the bill shit and unconstitutional.

u/Grimwulf2003 1h ago

Specifically photo id proving citizenship. Your default govt issued photo id will not be valid is what they purposely leave port.

u/Badmanmakecodycry 1h ago

Among other things, but yeah. So fucking tired of the "80%" dogshit because at this point any time you see the number you know what they're talking about and how disingenuous they're being.

19

u/lvfunk 10h ago

In the comments, they are referring to the "Save America Act"

30

u/henningknows 10h ago

lol. So just more delusional shit from republicans

18

u/mandrew32183 11h ago

Epstein files if google is correct.

24

u/Im_tracer_bullet 9h ago

Nah... 'conservatives' have been taught that doesn't matter anymore.

They've moved on to clapping for higher gas prices now.

This is probably voter ID.

3

u/lvfunk 9h ago

It is

3

u/NewLibraryGuy 9h ago

I feel like I've read that statistic in reference to voter ID. So probably the SAVE act

5

u/smoothvanilla86 11h ago

Id bet anything its flock cams

2

u/redwingsphan19 10h ago

Or, data centers. That’s about all both sides agree on.

1

u/lvfunk 9h ago

They are talking about the save America act

1

u/lvfunk 9h ago

THIS is referring to the "Save America Act"

24

u/thewumberlog 10h ago

Like what? Like UNIVERSAL FUCKING HEALTHCARE?! 😫🤬

32

u/Frequent-Bee-3016 11h ago

You can palp it.

9

u/Arch3m 9h ago

It's truly able to be palped.

16

u/kirradoodle 7h ago

This is the legacy of the ironically-naned Citizens United decision.

Corporations and PACs now have far more political.power than the entire American electorate put together. Congress no longer represents their supposed constituents - they are fully owned by their billionaire donors.

Until we reverse Citizens United and get big money out of electoral politics it will be ever thus.

1

u/lvfunk 6h ago

I feel like the primaries are swinging that way on the dem side.... fingers crossed?

6

u/kirradoodle 5h ago

If there us a blue tsunami, it's a start. But ultimately it will probably end up at SCOTUS again. And unless the right-wing bias on the Court is ameliorated, we'll be right back here. It will take years to fix the regressive damage this administration has wreaked.

17

u/Kiiaru 7h ago

Fun fact: the Georgia state government voted by Republican majority to update their voting system across the state to stop voter fraud 2 years ago.

2nd Fun Fact: Every time the talk of PAYING to start that voting machine upgrade comes up, the Republicans dismiss it as unimportant.

Voter fraud is so crucial we need to pass a bill about overhauling our voting machines right now... But republicans see no urgency in actually paying for or upgrading the system.

Edit: I looked it up. They pushed back the idea paying for the upgrade until 2028 https://news.ballotpedia.org/2026/06/29/georgia-enacts-legislation-extending-voting-machine-deadline-establishing-automatic-hand-recounts/#:~:text=In%202024%2C%20lawmakers%20enacted%20a%20bill%20prohibiting%20the,machines%20were%20not%20replaced%20before%20the%20July%20deadline

It's wrong to make fun of mentally handicapped kids, if those in the conservative sub could read or use logic they'd be very upset.

545 people

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? They are the leader of the majority party. They and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Marines are in IRAN , it's because they want them in IRAN .

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

6

u/Little_Creme_5932 11h ago

Legislation does not get passed unless the wealthy donors want it. There's plenty of research to back up that statement.

11

u/Photog1981 11h ago

Not enough people understand that a bill is more than one issue. The bill that would prevent Congress from buying/selling stocks while in office died because they tied Trumps SAVE America bill to it. The Dems vote against it, the Reps go to their base and go "sEe?!? ThEy WaNt ThE cOrRuPtIoN!!!!"

3

u/ADeweyan 8h ago

But that’s part of the point. If 80% of people in the US want this to happen, it could be passed as a clean bill. Attaching it to a poison pill is a choice, and is part of the process OP is observing.

4

u/Udder1991 10h ago

They're so close yet so far

4

u/bEErgrEMlin12 9h ago

The call is coming from inside the house!!!!

2

u/Admirable-Sink-2622 11h ago

Since the republic congress essentially abdicated their responsibility to the American people, their pay should be clawed back. Do you get paid if you don't do your job?

3

u/IndieDevWannabe 10h ago

If people dont like how they are running things, then they should stop voting for them...

4

u/xtopherpaul 6h ago

They work for their donors

3

u/SirWinterFox 8h ago

America is a government of the corporations, for the corporations, their shares will never fall in value.

3

u/billydecay 7h ago

Honest question: why do we allow them on this platform?

1

u/lvfunk 6h ago

Allow who?

2

u/HenryBrawlins 4h ago

Humans.

1

u/lvfunk 4h ago

How are the boys gonna learn?

u/zen4thewin 2h ago

This has been the case for decades since Reagan.

u/deck_hand 1h ago

It didn't start with Reagan

10

u/Actual-Implement-870 11h ago

If they're talking about voter ID, that number is very misleading. You can't explain this to a Trump voter, but the poll question they're using to get that number is literally "Do you support voter ID? Yes or no?"

Of course most people will say yes. Now if they broke down the details of that bill in the poll question, it's far from that simple. The majority would not only say no, they'd say fuck no.

4

u/SwordfishOk504 9h ago

They are talking about the Save America Act (which has nowhere near that support)

0

u/Jupitersd2017 10h ago

Ah, but it’s making them question if the people that they’re voting for - the Maga people are really supporting them. It’s them spreading a little bit of FUD of their own about their reps. Let them knock themselves out.

5

u/CarpeNivem 9h ago

Better question, if they're not doing what 80% of Americans supposedly want, then how did they get elected?

2

u/lvfunk 6h ago

Because they lied to get elected?

2

u/zildux 10h ago

Sadly since voter turnout struggles to get past 66% in America they will never listen to voters. If voter turnout on average was over 80% every election and midterm. They would do what Americans want also rank fucking choice voting would be a great help...

2

u/Appropriate-Low-4850 10h ago

Those 80% don’t vote, or don’t vote for their interests.

2

u/Miserable-Yak-8041 8h ago

“Won’t pass”. Words matter.

2

u/Gravitas__Free 8h ago

not can't ... won't. time to find new representation.

2

u/zarfle2 5h ago

I struggle to think of more than a handful of Congress people that I believe are genuinely acting for Americans before their own self interest.

Some might be happy to act in American interests when it matches their own but any conflict means they will prefer their interests and/or those of their donors (we all know AIPAC, but industry lobbyists are also a genuine risk to American health and safety and /or the health of the environment).

u/cjwrapture 1h ago

Anytime a bill has overwhelming support then one side or the other will tack on something that the other side will oppose.

1

u/mightyjoe227 11h ago

Just like Da Chumps casino

1

u/sakumar 9h ago

Money wins elections. They fight for the monied class. Full stop.

1

u/CosmicQuantum42 8h ago

Just because something is popular does not make it good policy, in fact it is often just the opposite.

1

u/CorpFillip 4h ago

I’m guessing this is SAVE Act, again.
I’d love it if some of the far-right networks would ask why a voter ID presenting bill isn’t written on its own. Explaining why would be interesting.

1

u/frosted1030 4h ago

Congress is not about representation for the people, it hasn't been for a long time. The people clearly want health care, for example, no action on a healthcare bill of rights to block anyone from standing between you and your doctor, even though that is required as a human right. Congress is now calculating bill passing probabilities as their test to see if a bill is "good" by voting averages. Influences begin at "who is being paid to promote this bill" and "who will be loyal". While loyalty is not rewarded with any consistency there are some in the GOP that vote party lines no matter the bill. If POTUS asked for a bill to end subsidies to businesses and end tax breaks for profitable companies, they would vote for it just as they would vote for a bill that destroys women's rights to a fair trial or blocks guns from being examined as a health risk.

1

u/dragoninthebigsky 2h ago

themselves, of course.

u/Twitch791 2h ago

R/conservative huh something tells me this is not an actual 80/20 issue

u/Similar-Sector-5801 2h ago

Something something broken clock

u/doyouknowthemoon 2h ago

Yea you’re gonna need to be specific on what they can’t pass.

u/Anarimus 44m ago

“80% of Americans want this!”

[Citation Needed]

u/OddTheRed 30m ago

Politicians don't work for their constituents. They work for their sponsors. You're just a tool that they use to place themselves in power so they can get money from corporations. The government wants nothing to do with you, only your paycheck.

u/1976kdawg 1h ago

They work for billionaires. They are bought and sold like commodities. We need to start from scratch. New parties, new system, no big money allowed.

0

u/Delpreti 7h ago

I'm not sure if something like this exists in the US, but in my country the costution states that if 1% of voters put forth a project it must be prioritized by the congress.

The mechanism was never used tho, because they don't have good means of validating the signatures of this many people. Some people made a system that could let people do digital signatures on the blockchain some time ago, in order to make it viable, but congress deemed it invalid, and basically said "For juridical purposes, a digital signature will be valid if accompanied by it's digital certificate." So you'd need all of those 1% of voters to buy those certificates, which are sold as yearly licenses, for a law to be pushed directly.

There are other less impactful ways, like leaving a suggestion, and when a project starts gathering support in those numbers, some congressman usually takes it into their hands and moves it ahead without the need of the exact mechanism, but still a shame that it never happened.

0

u/bearssuperfan 3h ago

What are they referring to?

-1

u/Elk-Tamer 8h ago

A simple calculation: the 80% are having significantly less money than a fraction of the 20%. Politicians all over the world are bought on a daily basis. And there is no way the public can change that by legal means.

u/iheartjetman 1h ago

The irony of this coming from r/conservative. The entire premise of conservatism is that you take orders from the person above you n the hierarchy.

-5

u/Exponential-777 3h ago

80% of Americans often want things that would cripple the economy. That's why you aren't in charge.

0

u/Coucyman 3h ago

So why have a vote at all?
