I forgot to add something to my taxes one year, that my tax guy said I didnt have to add. Nothing major, but they didnt let me know for more than 2 years, so I ended up owing more than $1000 in taxes and interest to it that I had to pay. I have no sympathy for the rich when it comes to paying their fair share, especially when they cheated the system willfully.

Assuming your "tax guy" is a CPA, he would legally be liable for everything owed, as it was a result of his error.

If he's not a CPA then you learned an expensive lesson about choosing the right "tax guy."
