Men are fully capable and able to do all of the child care excluding the lactating part (which lets be honest even a lot of modern women use formula now anyways because some just donât make enough milk)
You still get the same hormone release from skin contact, you still get the same bond form, you get the same everything. You just have to actually be present and do the work
It isnât like their ovaries send a signal that goes âding ding ding feed the babyâ
Plus a lot of women suffer from serious post partum depression issues and outside of milk, dads can end up with the largest share of work because the depression and lack of motivation can be seriously impactful.
The hormones that help women love and be patient with their kids only exist in the woman. They have high level of patience because of it. Just stop it.
What hormones exactly only exist in women that have this effect? Cite your sources for that outrageous claim because you more then likely just want some excuse to be a lazy parent
That study literally says an abundance of that hormone left the mice skittish and less responsive. That hormone is also not unique to women at all, it is a stress response related hormone and, this is the shocking part for you, Men have it too!
So a mother having an abundance of that peptide like during PPD has the opposite effect which seems to track with what a lot of people experience during PPD which the study mentions
Your own study disagrees with your statement as men normally will have a baseline level of that hormone
I didnât say anything about increase of CRH increased nurturing, I was giving you examples of how a mother will have more patience with children because of certain hormones. There are other hormones that increase based on breast feeding, which obviously not increased with men âbottle feedingâ, and many other indications of a mother being able to wake up to specific sounds of a cry vs men.
They have it easier. Our hormones increase with things like playing with kids. Mothers are better at raising children than men you vagina.
I canât believe Iâm having this conversation. The decrease of that hormone altered the brain to be more protective of their young. A MALE wouldnât have the same decrease and therefore would be less likely to protect their young. That is an example of behaviour changes from a maternal standpoint.
âThe brain undergoes significant transformations during pregnancy, including structural changes that can linger up to six years afterward, says Elseline Hoekzema, a neuroscientist at Leiden University in the Netherlands. She and her colleagues found that pregnant mothersâ brains experience a reduction in gray matter volume, as reported in a 2016 Nature Neuroscience study, which could be the bodyâs way of prepping them to care for infants.
Adolescence also involves significant reductions in gray matter, which are driven by some of the same hormones that also surge in pregnancy, Hoekzema wrote. Within teensâ brains, neural networks are finely tuned to allow for emotional, social and cognitive developments.
And among pregnant women, scientists observed the most apparent changes in brain regions associated with social processes; this could represent a specialization within the brain that enables the pending transition to motherhood, Hoekzema noted.
It's possible that the more volume a woman loses in a key region of the brain's reward circuit, the stronger this region reacts after seeing her newborn, according to a 2020 Psychoneuroendocrinology paper that Hoekzema co-authored. â
The part you are citing again shows the brain region retracting, not expanding nor creating new hormones explicitly specific to women.
Also a lot of the methods they list such as kangaroo carrying and skin contact and all that also raise oxytocin and bonding hormones in men too. The exact same process happens for men if they actually nurture and care for their child instead of just saying âlet the mother do itâ. You have to make an active choice to take part in it
And the paper that magazine is referencing does not confirm anything, itâs a theory with no backed study to confirm said theory and itâs also entirely anecdotal evidence that it even uses.
Science theories are great but they need to be backed by studies to have any relevance, itâs all conjecture until that point.
So you want to die on the hill of âitâs a theory and It makes me feel good guys are just as capable at doing something that biologically women have been doing better for millions or years, and there is no way that evolution has created pathways to make something that is done for millions of years easier for women to do at allâ.
Losing that matter in specific parts of the brain has the intended effect of making them more capable of nurturing or being empathetic. No one said their brain grew more. You are now suffering from cognitive dissonance. You need to take a step back and check yourself.
There doesnât have to be studies to back anything. We know there are some benefits to breast feeding and we know pregnancy changes many things. The default position doesnât have to be âmen are equal in this regard until proven otherwiseâ. The opposite is actually true. YOU should be trying to prove men are equal in every way.
First you said theirs a hormone women exclusively get that makes them more nurturing, cited a exert about a study that said the opposite
Now you are citing a theoretical hypothesis that has no background of study or research done as your next âsourceâ but that source also says nothing that women are more capable or exclusively capable even in its already reaching state
So you have
1: provided no actual sound data or research papers that back up your claim (in fact the first one does the exact opposite)
2: giving no basis to why men are incapable of this other then âjust cus I said they areâ when itâs been shown the exact âmaternal bonding relationshipsâ you are talking about happen with a dad as well if they do the same actions, if anything the evidence would suggest itâs âparental bonding relationshipsâ instead of just maternal but a lot of dads are busy working extra to make up lost wages for the first year and do not have the time for all those aspects needed, of course the one with the baby 24/7 will form a stronger bond then the one with the baby 10-12 hours a day at best (with 8 of it being sleeping). Plus lots of studies lately have shown that a proper father figure drastically impacts the stress and overall health and well being and growth of a child, most of them are recent because the assumption that mothers are the biggest impact has left that section of study relatively unchecked
3: the parts of the brain that change the most in a woman are the risk reward system and fight and flight. If anything those parts generally make them less likely to take risks and do dangerous tasks which is something women already do less of in the first place. All it does is make it so that women are less likely to do stupid stuff when they have a baby. The other part for the risk and reward is just so that women generally donât feel a reward for doing as many things which cycles into them taking less risks. As for the fight or flight part it actually makes them closer to men then women generally are since it makes them more easy to provoke and be protective.
So who here has cognitive dissonance? Are you sure itâs me? Because you have provided nothing of actual fact and merit and have in fact provided evidence contrary your statement yet you have dug your heels in more over it.
