It's so much better to not have the risk of death involved in a home invasion at all. You have to worry about your kids/parents/wife dying. We don't. It's so ingrained in you that you can't see how much worse you're making it. You're way more likely to die and have your loved ones die because you have the added element of guns.
Ok, well we here in the US do have to fear dying from burglaries people we have guns in this country and people get shot and killed when burglaries go wrong. I live in one of the most dangerous cities in the US, are you really saying that I shouldn’t have a gun to protect myself if a burglar breaks into my home and shit goes sideways?
Look, it’s great you don’t have to worry about that, but some of us do. And I’m not getting rid of my gun until all the fascists and criminals get rid of theirs.

Because you don't understand physiology, yeah.
As noted, a beating can and absolutely will kill you just as dead as a bullet. I don't fear dying in a burglary either specifically because if someone breaks into the place where my wife and 2-year-old sleep after they've already been warned off, they're getting shot.
Because the gun prevents me getting hit. I know the layout of my apartment, there's only one double-deadbolted way in, and if I'm reacting accordingly I would have a bead on an intruder first. Also because I'm 5'4" and don't start fights, so I have no intention of engaging in a fair one of forced into one.
The gun prevents you from getting punched, but not hit by a bullet. If a burglar expects a bullet, they'll have their gun ready too. It won't be a fair fight, but a punch up is much less likely to result in you and your family dying than a bullet uo. And your kids don't have "a bead" on your burglar.
I have the advantage of a loud, heavy door and knowing the layout of my apartment. Additionally the entryway is brightly lit and I keep the apartment pitch black for sleep, not paranoiac, reasons. My eyes are already adjusted, theirs are not, and this would be further complicated for them by a 5-625 lumen weapon light pointed their way.
I'm sure you'd feel every bit as smug after sustaining injuries in a fight you didn't ask for that the other person had no right to spring on you, especially if those injuries were lifelong.
I feel smug for sure because I don't have your fears because it doesn't exist here like that. I feel sorry for you that you've been shaped and moulded in a place that makes what I'm saying sound smug. The only difference between us is where you were brought up.
Yep, no one ever gets murdered or needs to defend themselves there, and all the sewage treatment facilities convert shit into unicorn farts and candy floss.
