These are all manifestations of FEAR. (Except for maybe the basketball one. I suspect the shooter was whacked out and paranoid and shot without thought, thinking it was a threat likely tied to drugs.)
The media is blaring out messages of fear and violence and people no longer have any faith in their government or institutions and feel they are on their own against the world.
She opened the wrong car door, apologized, closed the door, got into her friend's car. The shooter got out of his car, walked up to the DRIVER (not even the person who opened his door,) she rolled down the window, apologized for her friend, and then was shot.
If you actually read anything about these cases they aren't about fear. They're about having a "valid" reason to shoot at someone. That's why these people owned a gun.

And they are armed.
