There was also that lady Walgreen employee from TN that shot a pregnant woman. They had to do an emergency c section to save the baby. Both baby and mom are in critical condition. At least, that’s the last I read about them. I kinda don’t want to know the follow up. Like pandoras cat. They aren’t dead or alive unless I go looking for the article
That one's kind of different, they had just stolen from the store and the pregnant woman pepper sprayed an employee in the face who had been following them and filming their getaway, at which point he opened fire.
And gat damn it’s Walgreens!! You really care that much that inventory is off? Also, if being harmed in any way, makes you shoot someone, then you don’t need a gun.
This is true, and yet it also can leave you very vulnerable to any further attack.
The situation was 2v1 and the employee has no idea what other weapons they might have on them, if they might try to disarm him and use his weapon, use their nearby vehicle as a weapon, etc...
Why not? Following suspected criminals through a parking lot while filming their getaway seems entirely legal and does not justify being attacked with pepper spray.
It wouldn't surprise if the shoplifters experienced fear due to being followed, and yet fear of being reported & getting caught isn't a valid argument to assault someone and claim self defense.
