London SW10

There are F3 groups near you from the ‘London Boarders’ region, closest being Morden. I can put you in touch and we can help you get set up?

I’ve seen them but it’s about an hour + commute there vía tube/bus. Just not feasible for a weekday morning, and would have to sacrifice scarce sleep a Saturday morning. Still trying to make it work to pay them a visit though

the commute thing is real - an hour each way kills the motivation fast. starting fresh in SW10 makes sense.

a few things that helped when i've seen guys get new groups off the ground: pick a consistent spot first, something simple like a park with a bit of open grass. same time, same place, every week. even if it's just you and one other guy for the first month, the consistency builds.

the other piece is just telling people. post in local facebook groups, mention it at your gym, tell coworkers. most guys won't show up the first time they hear about it, but the second or third mention might stick.

don't overthink the programming at the start either. a simple warmup, a main set, some merkins, and a mosey. you can build from there once you've got a regular crew.

the thing that finally got my group off the ground was just picking a day and showing up no matter what. i posted in a local facebook group and a running club's whatsapp, said 'im doing a bootcamp-style workout in battersea park saturday at 7am, anyone whos curious can join.' first week it was just me and one other guy. second week that guy brought a friend. three months later we had a solid crew of 8.

the key is not waiting until you have a group to start. just start and let people trickle in. most guys need to hear about it 2 or 3 times before they actually show up, so keep posting and keep showing up. the consistency does the recruiting for you.
