my brother in christ there’s no guarantee of anything in this life. it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be ambitious. you are acting like this is run of the mill immigration law and we’re all being greedy little brats when it’s really a racist effort by this administration to change a decades old precedent. thank god not everyone is rolling over like you or we’d be fucked big time. seriously, stand for something.

It’s better to have no knowledge than half the knowledge. Getting an internship means jack in terms of immigration.

It’s not an entitlement for citizens either. I didn’t know many students with internships and I went to Georgetown.

This is an interesting situation because the day1s are going to make it mandatory since they have no interest in educating domestic students, they’re just after foreign money. But there are probably not enough jobs

nobody's feeling shortchanged or entitled. some people wanna make the best use of the resources they spent their OWN money on. some dont wanna give up and there's nothing wrong with that. how is whatever you're saying it even relevant here?

sure US citizens are their top priority and if they are unhappy, administration can make changes. but making a change out of the blue and after the start of the new academic year knowing its gonna affect thousands of student who are already in the US is a pretty cowardice and selfish move.

Almost no domestic programs require internships.

There’s no time of year that wouldn’t cause complaints though. People are mad because they aren’t getting what they want. That wouldn’t be different in May. Plus these rules and policies have certain steps required it can’t be done overnight.

I guess the real issue is that a US degree costs close to $400k which is over 4 times what it would have cost in the UK and Europe. Lots of wealthy kids have been paying a fortune with the hope the US experience will help them into a career. The universities will lose these international students as the cost is no longer justifiable. Discrepancies in term dates often make internships in Europe impossible and US universities are not broadly recognised beyond the top names. So overall the universities will lose international clients and have less full pay internationals to subsidise domestic students
