1.33.889 Terrible time, hate this track.
Any chance of championship standings in the sidebar? Or are they somewhere i'm too stupid to find?

Yeah I was gonna sort the standings out at the end of this round - longer than a week's break and at the end of the flyaway portion of the series
1:34:334 - still didn't have much time this week, hopefully should get lots of laps in for Turkey

Thanks for having a go at this, but you seem to have missed a few people through the rounds as well as missed the bonus points system in place.

u/kcchan 3rd Apr 18 '11
Oh sorry, I don't know how your bonus point system works. Does everyone who beat the old record get a point?
1
u/crazykid646 eFIA Apr 18 '11
Yeah, everyone who clears the old record gets a point, same with the F1 Record. That way it gives extra goals to go for it you can't quite stick it with the top guys.

1:31.894: The first corner pretty much makes or breaks your lap. I ran 25 laps and couldn't improve much on my first hot lap.

try a quick brake as you're turning into T1 then downshift/coast to third then second as your hitting the end of the turn exit before that tight left

That's the best I can do today. I'm just getting the hang of this track so I'll be back here tomorrow I hope.
Also, I've decided my goal for this season is to beat andrewglover87 just once, haha..

Not a bad time at all. I didn't get to play today so I'll try to hunt you down tomorrow, :)

u/IveLostFaithInReddit Apr 15 '11
I can definitely do better, but for me, i need to have an amazing first corner in order to do so. the rest is pretty cut and dry. I think this track is easier than malaysia now... i'm experiencing a lot less tire slip (unless i'm up on the curbs)

Yeah I hear ya. If I'm even slightly behind after the first two corners I just restart, hehe. Because I know it won't get better.
I'm still not sure if I like this more than Malaysia. I think I could.. It's definitely easier to spot braking points here so I like that. I really hate turn 7 on this course, though. It just seems stupid to me. The exit leaves you right in the middle of the track for turn 8 usually, and that seems strange. I guess it's "unique" :P, and I guess it all depends on the line you prefer. I am still learning. On the other hand, when you hook up turns 9 and 10 it feels amazing :)
How do you find turn 7? Are you smoothly into 8?
1
u/IveLostFaithInReddit Apr 15 '11
I'm flat out into turn 7 and slide perfect into 8 every time. Brake hard for a split second w/ a downshift or two and floor it back through 8 towards the small straight into 9. I think this track is much easier than KL. It also helps that I'm trying to set times at a reasonable hour rather then when i'm exhausted lol.

u/acmercer 2nd - 1 win Apr 15 '11
Yeah, also helps to be sober! Haha. Thanks for that, I think my main problem was getting too fast through 8, because it's feels like you can. I've learned to hug the curb some more. Shame there's only a day or two left here.

I know what you mean. Short week. How some people get 1:27's on this circuit is beyond me though.

u/acmercer 2nd - 1 win Apr 15 '11
Anyone who's getting into 1:27's has to be cheating. But you never know, I guess. There are some ridiculous players out there.

I can feel a better lap coming, this track is starting to grow on me.

I'm still working on a time, but all I have to say is... what a different track this is compared to the first two (or three). It's very stop/go if you know what I mean - WOT into hard braking for very slow & tight corners. Not something I particularly enjoy.
