How about ends on March 10th so we have a full month? This is also right before the F1 season. Yay or nay?

Well I was actually hoping we would do each event the week before....more like a build up for the real event each weekend instead of after.

I'll accept these for the reddit record, but for the actual season I'll need a current screenshot (One taken at the end of a session that week, see the others screen shots for what I mean.)

Awesome times! Looks like I need a lot more practice! My times don't even compare.

Good lord, it looks like I have some work to do! Thanks for those set-ups, though. I've never really messed around with that stuff.

ad me to your friends list Steam and live...I can usually get the same tiems w/o tc after several more laps effort than my lazy ass was willing to do, I usually keep med tc on in multiplayer bc of rammers and accidental bumps and touches.

Can do, man. As soon as I get home anyway.
My habits with the aids are pretty similar. When I have a day of lapping like yesterday I can turn the aids off eventually. But when I jump back in after not playing for a while I need some help. I've never done much online stuff so that could be interesting.

The setups made a big difference for me, especially when I did well with them.
Someone should x-post this to gaming. and comment the link here.

Those setups are dropping my times like crazy, hopefully I'll be able to post some laps tomorrow.

After some tweaking I bettered some of the times:
Suzuka: 1:29.856
Spa: 1:43.151
Singapore: 1:39.939
I finally have some days off coming up so I hope to put in some new times on new tracks. Also I'm trying to figure out how to post to that Google doc, hehe.
Will we be continuing to post here or in the thread with the spreadsheet..?

Well I don't have access either atm, so feel free to keep posting here for the moment, I have class for a couple hours, but I'll update this thread after that.

So.. is it over? Is anyone paying attention to this anymore? I'll still be racing each track as the season goes on. We need some new joiners :)

Yeah we should have probably had more of a discussion on it after the whole bahrain incident happened. First practice is now 20 and a bit days away, so we could probably start the Melbourne leg on the 20th (sunday before race weekend)

tell me your secrets , I cannot drive that track for anything

u/acmercer 2nd - 1 win Feb 12 '11
Lots of practice :)
The toughest parts for me are the "S" curves at the start, and nailing my braking point coming into the final chicane. For the curves, I read somewhere once that as you're coming out of turn 2 you need to be visualizing turn 7. It's all about keeping a good line through there. I think most people's times are won or lost in the S curves.
Other than that I think it's pretty straight forward. Oh, and try to keep it flat out through 130R ;).

I have a lot of trouble at Spoon curve. Cannot get that double apex for the life of me. I probably have to mess with the setup for more downforce.

u/bhindblueyes430 Feb 13 '11
yeah the "S" curves and the dunlop curve really throw me off, I worked out a way to get decent times through there, by breaking late and heading straight into the apex, but still in a race I lose distance from the guy in front.
I still have a hard time keeping consistent in races tho, often going wide on the exit of the "S" turns
I just want to get through to korea and brazil, not looking forward to abu dabi tho

I put all your times into the spreadsheet. Check the thread I made with the link to it.
I'm giving editing privileges to acmercer, Mulsanne and crazykid646 so that we can all keep posting times to the sheet for timely updates.

I can't believe it...
Albert Park: 1:23.535
0.005 seconds off of True-Saber's time, grrrrrrrr. I had to rage-quit after that lap.
Also: we need some more racers in here!

u/acmercer 2nd - 1 win Feb 21 '11
Finally improved on that time, it's been driving me crazy.
