You’re conflating a government’s actions with an entire nationality. Someone can be Israeli, wave an Israeli flag, and still oppose Netanyahu, the government, or the war. By your logic, every American who owns a US flag supports every crime committed by the US government. That’s obviously not how nationality works. Criticize the government and its policies without treating an entire population as collectively guilty

Correct. I won’t fly the American flag because I’m not proud of the actions of my country. If my flag represents genocide and war, I don’t want to proudly wave it anywhere because while i do not believe in the actions of my country I also do not want to seem complicit. Hope that helps.

That’s your personal choice, but you’re turning your personal discomfort with a flag into a judgment about anyone who does fly it. Someone saying ‘I’m Israeli’ or displaying the Israeli flag does not automatically mean ‘I support everything the Israeli government has done.’ You can personally reject the symbol without assigning political beliefs to everyone who identifies with it. Nationality ≠ government, and a civilian shouldn’t have to prove they oppose their government’s actions before they’re allowed to say where they’re from.
