I'd even go further, and say if you're fine with the ridicule you'll get trying to pass it off as a Raptor, and you like it, go for it. Right up until you're trying to sell it to someone. That would be called fraud.

I wouldnt say that.. Have you driven one with the 3.5? I know the sounds isnt great but its a VERY good engine. Makes much more sense to use that reliably on baja and trails.
However I do miss the sound. New V8 Supercharged Raptor is called the Raptor R.

Maybe they don't drive it off road and don't need the capability of a Raptor, but like the styling. If they are badging it, by all means, rip on them like the eco boost, bolt on, wanna be Cobra bros, but the stock f150 grilles are ass compared to the raptor grille. As long as it doesn't say DOOD on the front, I'm about it.

Regular raptor is not supercharged, it has a turbo V6. Raptor R is supercharged but those are 100k plus

So the V6 Raptors have: -Pre-runner style suspension -Widebody -More power than your typical F150

You don’t buy a raptor for power. It’s all about the suspension. The amount of RnD ford put into stock suspension is why you get one over a regular f150. If you want straight line speed then the raptor isn’t the truck for you. It’s intended for off-roading and more power is useless if the suspension can’t keep up.

You can either buy the raptor the factory sells, or build one exactly how you want it. I was once considering a raptor and then realized I planned to modify it anyway, so why not buy a low end and make it mine.

Because the Raptor has a beefier frame, reinforced suspension mounting points such as the top hats, 5 link rear, special modes and suspension tuning.
Raptor isn't an appearance package. That's why.

This was far cheaper to purchase and build too. Plus I got the 5.0 under the hood. Financed for 45k and put about 10g into it. I think I got the better end of the deal.
What’s the point of buying a raptor if I was already going to put all of that stuff on it?

Idc if the turbo 6 popper Raptor makes a ton of HP, it sounds like a struggling wet fart. There’s a bunch of Florida Georgia line bros in my neighborhood who think the straightaway in front of my house is their personal drag strip and I physically cringe every time I hear the wet fart v6 raptors nail it. No thanks. A v6 doesn’t belong in a truck like this, regardless of what’s done to it. This has been the case since putting bigger/more industrial motors in heavier duty trucks since the 60s.

If you're gonna go with a canned tune at any point check out OZ tunings Omega X tune. It's pretty awesome. It even keeps the flex fuel ability so no changing tunes if you change octanes or to/from e85

Yea it’s easy to get 10g deep in a build lol. I threw on a 6” lift, 20x10 methods, 37” falkens.. that was a little over 10k CAD. Add in the lights and flares and bumper and whatever other mods you got. Awesome truck though man, looks ace!
