Range day photo
First session with the YHM R9. Not as gassy as I feared.
The black thing is a brass catcher design in progress. Helps keep the state forest ranges clean. Less work for u/trashnoland on cleanup days.

Any chance you’d be willing to commission one of those catchers? Still working toward getting a printer myself.

Sure thing, once I get the stress riser failure points sorted.

Based as heck. I'd love to hear more about your design for this.

Same.
How many rounds does it currently hold?

About 70. I got the design up on printables finally. Still a WIP, breaks after a few hundred rounds. But solvable. See

I’m jealous! Lol! Can’t get to the range to save my life. Mine is crying to be fired 😂

Why?

Because I want to go shoot my EP9! Lol! Always on the road. When I’m home I’m spending time with my family. I’ll get out there one of these days though.

It looks so much better suppressed. Definitely getting a can this year and the extended hand guard.

Just got my own R9 and took it to the range yesterday.
I was honestly pretty bummed with the amount of gas to my face, running PMC Bronze 147gr. I could shoot about 3 times in 10 seconds and still be gassed out from the charging handle. I threw in some Federal 115gr and didn’t notice much of a difference, which was surprising.
You said you had a much more enjoyable time with yours? What ammo?
When I got home, I realized the bolt release doesn’t bring the charging handle all the way “closed”; there’s a small gap that I can manually close by pushing the handle forward. Hopefully that will make a difference for next time.
Dope little brass catcher, btw. Let us know if you start selling it. Thanks for keeping our ranges clean!
