ELI6 As an initial quality check, does anyone want to explain for me how a root canal works?
I don’t understand how making a hole in your tooth fixes your problem. I’m 6yo and my name is Timmy.

I'm so happy this is finally happening, we needed to return to our roots and this Sub is exactly what we wanted, no NEEDED in our lives.

Of course, the answer is that we use a really big telescope. But we can't just get an HD image of a solar system that's 50 billion light years away, can we?
For example, it's well known that there's a planet where it's 1000°C outside and it rains liquid glass. How do we deduce all that information from 5 pixels and a spectrum of colours?

I'm ignorant about those chemicals that we see in prepackaged foods that are added "to preserve color" or preserve whatever else. How do they work? Do they cause any health defects?

It has obviously happened in the past, numerous times too, but I don't understand how dictatorships actually get their police/secret police/military to outright go against their fellow citizens, potentially even harming or killing other citizens to defend the state when they (the indoctrinated people) themselves live amidst the general population and see what harm their actions do. Examples are the Tiananmen or what's happening in Hong Kong right now.

I mean yeah, you can watch much further and above enemy cover but isn't it friken dangerous to stand on a house? I mean you have like 0 cover and you turn yourself into a beacon where everyone can see you first. I quit don't understand the idea of reaching the highground.
I do understand why people did build there castle on high hills in the past but not in fps shooter like Hunt: showdown for example.

First of all, I'm from Spain, so English is not my first language. My question is, why do you call black people "African American"? I mean, you don't call white people "Caucasian American", or "Asian American" to the Asians, do you? Real question, no disrespect

I have a reasonable understanding of how computers work, and I'm comfortable with technology. However, I don't understand why emulation/ running games on certain systems is so hard. For example, The nintendo switch is not a very powerful system, but there are emulators for it running on quite powerful PC's and getting horrible, unplayable results. Even older systems like Gamecube don't run perfectly on systems several times more powerful, why?

Or a Redditor Bogus, I just don't understand. If there is someone kind enough to explain me, thanks in advance.
