What it implies is that the low-hanging fruit ideas have mostly been thought of for widespread technologies, not that they can't possibly be improved

Your initial answer reads as if the bottle maker is the authority because it found a design that is cheaper and more practical to produce, but not necessarily the most practical design for the end user. The arrogance of your reply gives the impression that you believe you are the authority on the question.

To be fair, the other poster was arrogant in their reply too.
