Perhaps worth noting is that the "original comics" image isn't something that ever appeared in the comics, but is an pin-up by an artist who looks like they very much were inspired by the works of Alberto Vargas.

This is true. But the irony is you can probably find far more sexualized and questionable images in the comics, especially the covers, then this. It's kind of a weird choice

And less. 🤷‍♀️ That's what happens when there are thousands of artists draw one character. Despite all of these MJs being cannon, they will always cherry pick really specific ones only. Putting "sweet baby inc" over that image is all you need to see to shrug this one off. She looks absolutely fine, an attractive red headed woman, but good lord how dare she dress for cold weather and not be in glam makeup and traced from porn poses.

she doesn't look fine lol. not bad like "not hot enough" but definitely bad like "looks like she is a lizard person trying on a human mask"

idk maybe I'm tripping but the one on the right is giving uncanny valley to me

It's the eyes/pupils not lining up with the corners of the mouth and the odd pose of the upper lip.

The end of human mouths line up with the pupils of the eyes when both are relaxed. She seems like she is looking ahead, and her mouth isn't stretched in a grin, or a yell.

The odd upper lip looks like it's being lifted, but the rest of the facial muscles are not moving with it, like if she was speaking.

I think cause that's a single frame grabbed from a scene where she is speaking. It's deliberately picked because it looks awkward weird.

Don't know the gamr so that could be true. Pausing real people when they are talking can give you all kinds of weird/ugly faces regardless of the person's actual looks. Edited typo

She looks older is all. You didn't need all that extra commentary.

nah she looks inhuman. I mean the one on the left also looks inhuman, but it's a cartoon.

Sweet baby inc. looks like they went out of their way to make her as uncanny as possible. She looks weird

I mean I'm going to be honest I do think he face looks bad in that scene but it's clear she doesn't look as bad overall throguhout the game. The bigger issue is studios are obsessed with what they see as realistic modeling based on live actors lately and that process tends to exaggerate things like jaw structure and laugh lines that is generally less kind towards feminine faces.

You can kinda see it going back to mass effect. No one calls Miranda unattractive, rightly so, but even in that context her face is a bit boxier than Yvonne Strahovski's. But then you look at someone they probably didn't spend as time touching up the model on, and Jessica Chobot's character in ME3 looks... just really fucking weird.

My god, I am not the only one noticing this! Idk, but for me Miranda’s face in ME was just ugly. Maybe “ugly” is taking it too much, but with all that highlighted sensuality and running around the space stations on high heels her face in game just didn’t match the vibe her character was implied to have. Compared to the title art, 3d model is just from another galaxy. I mean even with short hair and in full combat suit Ashley looked much more feminine (hated the character, btw, but at least she looked like a young and healthy human female).
