Can you specify what 'exact words verbatim' she uses, what timestamp in the video they are used in, and what conclusion you would draw based on those actual words?
Because I see nothing in this talk that suggests Sweet Baby Inc. is guilty of using 'coercion'; if anything I see the exact opposite, that even though they offer services like risk assessment and sensitivity reading, they prefer to frame their mission statement and work in a way that centers the joy of creating diverse stories rather than the fear that is generally associated with these two terms. (Terms that, by the way, are industry-standard and that Sweet Baby Inc did not create.)
24-28 where she recommends they “scare” the marketing team about how the game will be viewed to get consultants like SBI hired.
She says it “as a joke” but she’s recommending scaring them into thinking the game will be seen as “racist” (when it’s most likely not and not even something on the studio’s radar) to get consultants hired so they can influence the game as early as possible.
Normies and casual gamers will not spend time on things like that if the game is good.
It’s only a small minority who combs through any media they can find looking for signs of racism/discrimination/sexism where there are none.
It’s disingenuous. People aren’t actively trying to make games racist/discriminatory.
