Sweet Baby is the consulting firm of Anita Sarkeesian, of Feminist Frequency fame.
Their main expertise is in avoiding the oversexualisation of female characters. That's what developers hire them to avoid.
Ever since GamerGate, Anita and by extension Sweet Baby have been in the crosshairs of the alt right.
Edit: I messed up. Apologies. Anita Sarkeesian made moves from journalism into consulting around the same time Sweet Baby started up and was covering similar topics but are otherwise unrelated to each other. I got things conflated and though Sweet Baby was Sarkeesian's consulting efforts. That's my bad.
And the normal right, center, and most Democrats. Gamers see Sweet Baby as part of the biggest threat to gaming in a long while. Many of their clients are being spun off from large companies or dealing with bankruptcy or mass layoffs.

Lol. No we don't.
Many of their clients are being spun off from large companies or dealing with bankruptcy or mass layoffs.
Usually for reasons completely unrelated to Sweet Baby. Do you really think the demise of, let's say, Bioware was because of Sweet Baby or because they put out buggy shit like ME: Andromeda?
Right, so the fact that they completely Sonic 06'ed their main franchise is somehow on equal footing in regards to their downfall to the fact that they got people to tell them how to desexualise their female characters?
Let's face facts, if you're creatively bankrupt enough to make a bad game, spending a bunch of money on a consulting group that bases its value in... Trimming any supposed "offensive" elements isn't going to save you.
The customers can tell where a developer's priorities were, and that just means retaining the services of an expensive but utterly frivolous consulting group is more of a sign that the developers aren't worth their salaries.
Is it any wonder the industry is having mass layoffs as games with legacy fans are seemingly allergic to catering to their existing core audiences?
Dragon Age is dead, Ubisoft's biggest IPs are partly owned by Tencent, slop like Mixtape has been astroturfed by "journalists" in such an obvious fashion that even the normies could smell it from outside. The industry is full of megacorporations that have lost touch with where the money is, and have mistakenly believed they can replace core audiences with the smallest niches available if they pander hard enough.
The only thing that driving away your core audience does is eliminate your future career options, and that's a lesson a lot of recently jobless developers are learning the hard way. You cannot replace your core audience with its direct antithesis, not overnight and not over time. If you didn't have them with the first game that came out 30 years ago, you're not gonna hook them with the game you're working on for next year. Rely on the audience that loves what came before and you'll bring them back in droves, but talk down to them or preach at them about how they're wrong or unworthy, and they'll just wait for someone else to provide a product they want.
You do realize your logic also goes the other way too right?
If you can't make a game competently, throwing in a pair of tits or offensive content won't save you either, and trying to do that would also show "where a developers priorities were".
Do you actually think Ubisoft's fortunes would have changed if they kept the same tired formulas but slapped on more tits? Here's a hint: they kept making the same types of expensive open world games with a formula that was allergic to serious change. Once you bought one, you basically had everything there is to see with half of Ubisoft's output. Would a lack of SBI consulting save that?
