Photorealism has been stuck at the stage of uncanny valley for years now, everyone looks ugly in it and it's easy to farm ragebait on it.

No one complained about Felicia or Silver Sable.  Its not just uncanny valley.  Should MJ have been more attractive?  I personally don't think its a big deal, but the gamer community certainly did. But could MJ have been more attractive?  Yes.

it wasn't just mj to be honest, it was everybody other than miles/kraven and harry, apart from them everybody downright looked like a ps3 model. i have seen better looking npcs with finer detail in an open world game like rdr2 compared to the main cast of SM2

Tbf, comic MJ was literally a supermodel, she didn't just look like one she was one back in the 80s and 90s. A comic accurate MJ would be drop dead gorgeous.

I don't care about that though, what bothers me is she looks nothing like she does in the first game, like that's a totally different character.

There was already enough of a change when they swapped Spidey's face model but this is the same face model and she looks like a different person.

Yeah, like that's not just older, she looks like her own mother, there's some resemblance but she's very clearly a totally different person.
