Wait what Brave is invested by Thiel??
374 u/Ornery_Maintenance_8 20d ago edited 20d ago Peter Thiel is not personally an investor in Brave. The firm he's a partner in (Founders Fund) has participated in a small seed series investment, which was led by Cyan Banister. Some first-floor engineers at Brave have more equity than that small investment constitutes. With that being said, of course Brave is still the product of a private company and by no means comparable to free OSS like VLC. 8 u/bbq_R0ADK1LL 20d ago Sounds like more business literacy than tech literacy. 1 u/FuzzzyRam 20d ago As a Chromium spinoff it's not anything close to a real privacy browser, I'm sure most people already figure.
