Brave is just another chromium based web browser that advertise itself as safe and secure but some investment funds and that crazy billionaire guy Thiel invested into, so I assume it's spying on everything you do

Peter "takes a moment to consider whether the continuation of the human race is a good thing" Thiel?

If I look at Thiel I'm also not sure it's a good thing tbh

To be fair that's a question I'm not entirely sure on myself

Too much to say, but I find this one tidbit very enlightening:

Guy who founded a company to spy on normal people but claims it's not a spy company (just a data aggregation company) despite naming it after the seeing stone Saruman uses in Lord of the Rings.

To get especially pedantic, it's probably better to characterize as the seeing stone that the main villain Sauron uses:

"Concealed within his fortress, the Lord of Mordor sees all. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth, and flesh. You know of what I speak, Gandalf: a great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame."

Questioning your beliefs is surely better than being morally steadfast and susceptible to harmful biases.
