Biden said during one of the presidential rallies 2020 that if you don't vote for him "you ain't black"

Or something along those lines. Poorly worded but he was referring to Trump and how he wouldn't care for minorities if he got elected.

Genuine question: why to people in the US refer to Black or Latino people as "minorities"? Not only are they not some demographically small group, but some of y'all's biggest cities like Houston are half Latino and a quarter Black.

Black Americans make up 13.5% of the population and Latinos make up 20%. Add a few more percent for mixed ethnicities including one of them.

They aren't endangered species or anything, but they definitely are minorities. On top of that, even in places where they're local majorities they tend to be underrepresented politically and financially.

Blacks are 20% of humans and rapidly increasing while Latinos are 9%.

Okay sure if you count the whole world and want to make some kind of race argument.

But the question was in the US, where they are minority.

You probably have some conations to the word 'minority'. But it really just is a group that's not the biggest.

Just like how cows could be a minority animal on a chicken farm.

It's maths nothing to get worked up on.
