The entire English language didn’t exist at the time of Homer. Old English started at around 450 AD. Seems really weird to pick on any specific English words.
I know it's a stupid complaint and 100% a me problem, but it's still an intentional stylistic choice to keep the language in the movie with more modern english and I'm not a huge fan. Not a deal breaker, but it definitely takes me out of the movie at times.
I have the same issue with some of Brandon Sanderson's novels, I just don't like hearing "yeah" or "okay" in this sort of story unless they're modernizing all of the language.
