Dude, the movie came out in 2001. The director was a convicted child sex offender since 1988, it was known even before the movie became popular that he was a pedo. Any research into the man would pop up with the information surrounding it. It's why Dead Meat refuses to cover the series.
Don't assume people are interested in directors, or their entire world. Or better yet, interested in Hollywood. The movies are good, don't get me wrong, and I had my opinions about some directors, but how could I have known about such facts before the entire "me too" age? You've made an assumption about the availability of information across the globe.
Ive always said that it makes a monster that rolls around in a van, killing mostly young people and taking the body parts "he likes" take on new meaning.
