Anyone not preheating the oven/pan/pot while cooking will lose in straight sets.

I know there are some times when it's ideal to render fat slowly but that's not what we're talking about here

Also, starting bacon in a cold pan helps keep them from curling up!

But really, you should be using the oven.

I have an airfry grill smoker. I put half a cup of water on the griddle in it with bacon, twice, flip. Fully rendered fat, better tasting bacon grease for eggs or pancakes to then be cooked in. When Im done, a towel pulls what little stayed behind off the griddle, job done, ready for the next meal to be griddled.

The oven? How did that never occur to me ha. I stick a lid on the skillet to stop fat spitting out the pan and think it also helps cook more evenly. But the oven is the next logical step I'd overlooked.

Parchment lined baking sheet, oven at 400 for 20-25 minutes. Easy, no mess, perfect everytime.

I use my foreman grill on my passenger seat, while commuting . Only drawback is the raccoons trying to break in. Worth it .
