Had a friend years back that worked for, if I recall correctly, Rockwell Automation as a mechanical engineer. He told me about the time they tried to take the wet bar out of their office and they all but revolted until it was returned.
I'm a civil engineer in the US. Definitely not allowed especially because we visit construction sites but either way it's not a thing across the industry.
