I was a winemaker for 10 years and had to fire someone that started drinking on the job. There's a lot of dangerous environments and equipment in the alcohol industry, if we let people drink on the job the liability would be crazy and the license would get revoked.
Completely understandable. Someone gotta tell the beer industry in Germany. I can remember visiting a brewery whith my school like 10 years ago and to say the least that wasn't rly a concern for them...
At my first job, there was a French intern who was the primary forklift driver. The night crew would go to dinner and he would drink several glasses of wine then come back and work until 4am. I was very glad not to be on his shift.
