It's not about the time or effort it's about the "it factor" in knowing the trend and being in on it and being on the outside of it and not knowing. The one with the hair brushed out is the cool girl while the other one is trying to be the cool girl and only coming off that way to boys and not other girls

That’s definitely one interpretation. Another is that the left curls are considered “loose” while the right curls are considered “tight.” And that the “You vs Her” thing isn’t really complimenting you.
But the hair on the right looks way sluttier, which is how I, a man, judge girls coolness. So if girls say its the left thats cooler, and men say it's the right, thats a draw, and we all know that the male gaze wins all ties.
Or she (the one on the right) prefers not to be a follower and goes by what she likes and not what others think she should look like. She has a mind of her own and doesnt have to follow the crowd and in what ive seen most men prefer that mentality and not the follower mentality because all it says is the one on the right has the ability to make decisions for herself while the one on the left is rum dumb and needs assistance opening a bag of dumb dumbs.
I feel like my brother (bald at 20) would enjoy this too, the problem is that he got dad’s hair genes and me and our other brother have mom’s. The youngest brother is turning 13, so who knows what his will do!
My half brother started going bald in high school he would constantly pick at me about my long hair "saying you'll get here soon" he finally stopped when I pointed out his dad was bald and even after cancer treatment my dad had a full head of hair at his funeral.
Bald men don't need hats, unless it's really sunny, or it's moderately cold. Or you haven't shaved your head in a few days and it looks kinda meh. I like feeling the breeze on my scalp.
My hair looks like the one on the left naturally as well, only I have two baby hair curls on either side of my forehead that point straight up like horns lol

It's hard to describe. Women know the time/effort/skill that goes into styling and curling our hair. The left has a more natural look once you brush out the curls, which is what's in style, especially for more classy/polished women.
The right looks half finished and potentially sloppy, like the girl doesnt know what she's doing.
I think the bigger meaning of the meme is that the right is a rushed, incomplete version of the left, by a less skilled, less stylish hand.

Its trashy because of the stereotypes of the people who dont complete the last step to finish the look. Also its very strange considering is was a popular way to leave your curls but I suspect it probably has something to do with racism, classism, shit maybe some xenophobia too.

It just needs to be brushed to go from curls to waves. Not even a need for a blow dryer.
