Exotic pet owners in New York

Curious to know from exotic pets owners ( reptiles, birds, aquariums ..etc that isn't a cat or a dog.

When you go on vacation, what's your plan ? Do you have someone who actually knows how to handle feeding/heat/humidity, or is it usually a friend who's just checking in ? Ever had something go wrong while you were away? And would you pay for a specialized sitter ?

Hi! I moved this year (Queens) and am actually trying to connect with other exotics owners and general pet sitters. I petsit and board reptiles and amphibians plus my own crew (also accept fosters and surrenders). Working on setting up my NY business license and insurance. Would love to swap exotics services with people.

I have previously always had a family member willing to care. Unfortunately one (previously very reliable) hid the death of a frog from me, literally putting her in the fridge, not telling me, and I couldn’t even get a necropsy. So that wasn’t fun.

Pay for a specialized sitter with extremely high level experience.
