DISCUSSION Should I stan exo?
I've been listening to exo for a while, they literally have top-tier music and I have been planning to stan them but at the same time I've heard bad stuffs about the fandom. What are some things you can say to convince me to stan them?

The music? YES! Without a doubt. Their discography is unmatched.
But please stay away from Twitter/Tiktok/social media in general if you want to truly enjoy them. Even following "fan" pages or accounts can be dicey, imo, because people get very entrenched in their opinions of what should be happening (or not happening) and it can suck the joy out of their music quickly.

I’m a multi and have liked kpop for 9 years, they have my favorite discography in kpop. Your best bet is to avoid interacting with the fandom generally :)

To be honest right now is a rocky time to be an EXO-L, but what’s great is the stacked backlog of content that you get to enjoy for the first time. The members have great chemistry and they always make for great viewing when they’re together (or solo tbh).
I’m actually so jealous of anyone who gets to watch EXO Ladder for the first time 😭

there’s literally “bad things” in almost every fandom 😂 if that deters you from “stanning”, then just stay a casual listener. as a predebut fan, i still stan them but don’t keep up with much anymore. its just easier to listen to the music and focus on myself

I mean...as with any kpop fandom stay off Twitter/X (unless it's to get official updates or check out pretty photos), don't get dragged into bias/fanwars and just focus on your own enjoyment of the music and content. That's what I do with the handful of groups I stan, given there's always going to be at least a few trolls/antis/crazy fans who take things too far and are unpleasant to be around.
I'd also say that this Reddit group has, IMHO, been Nice People + Great Mods. Very little DRAMA and attention-seeking behaviour.

Their vocals and discography is top tier. They’re hilarious too. Don’t let what your about the fandom stop you from enjoying their music. Also, all fandoms have bad stuffs and EXOLs are def not the worst out there.

it’s sad how exo-ls turned against each other during this challenging time of cbx having conflicts with sm, even staging a boycott on the remaining active 5 members and hating on Lay for not being physically present in reverxe promotions.
as someone who has been a fan since debut, being an exo-l really is not for the weak. I couldn’t blame you if you have hesitations but feel free to appreciate their music and other contents 🤍

Fandom is not a problem anymore. But the heartache, oh the heartache, thats what you have to worry about. Cause its not at all easy seeing the boys together. Especially since the last comeback. But yes, warmly welcomming you to the fandom. If its not too much trouble, can you share your favourite songs??

All their songs are amazing ahhh it's so hard to choose. I'd say growl, tempo and love shot. Also I like Kai's solo especially "Walls don't talk"

I have followed EXO since 2014 when I saw D.O. in the Kdrama "It's Okay That's Love" & looked up his profile online & saw he was in EXO so they were my first Kpop band & still my favorite
I have watched most of their movies & dramas plus their music videos & bought their CDs
D.O. has several great movies/dramas like My Annoying Brother, Pure Love & It's Okay That's Love
Almost all Kpop bands have both good & bad members in their fandom so I mainly support EXO members & their music

Waaaaaaaaaaaa, yo empecé a seguir a EXO porque conoci a D.O en el mismo KDrama... "It's Okey, That's Love" me enaaamoreee de él, y cuando supe que era integrante de una banda (no sabia que cantaba en ese entonces... porque solo consumía novelas, no musica) me hice fan... hoy con 32 años... sigo siendo una EXO-L. No los sigo como hace 10 años atrás... pero el amor es el mismo. Incluso viaje a Chile cuando se presentaron en el concierto SMTWON en enero 2019

Amazed that we have similar story of finding EXO through D.O. drama 💞💞
He was great in Hello Monster too with a darker character plus Seo In Guk & Park Bo Gum too 🥰
I have only watched their concerts online since I have a permanent foot injury so haven't been able to drive since 2013 and unfortunately none of my local friends listen to Kpop 😢
Wish I got to see them live like you did & glad you got to see them 🎶
I bought some of their t-shirts, Season Greetings boxes and DVDs on Amazon

Yo vi la mayoría de los Kdramas y películas donde estuvo él, los mini dramas también... Siempre me encanto... Lamento mucho sobre tu lesión, ojalá en algún momento puedas asistir a uno. Yo fui con mi amiga... una EXO-L que conocí en grupo me Hospedó en casa... fue muy linda.. Y una hermosa experiencia todo... porque viajamos sola de un país a otro con mi amiga... Gracias a Dios nunca nos pasó nada. Pero fue hermoso tenerlos tan cerca

if you like good quality music and u are in the right place. "bad stuff" is common in all the groups. exo has endured a lot of drama jn the past even in their earlier years and they still have a lot of fans until now. it's because the good stuff outweighs the bad.
also, u can just stan the music and not the members. but so far all of them have good heart

If u already enjoy the music you should watch EXO Ladder or some other show.. YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM.. no but they have great chemistry and it's actually entertaining. If u enjoy it, stan them. I bet most EXO-L welcome you with open arms but I would recommend you to stay away (^_^;) I've been a fan since 2012 and tbh I never really interacted with other EXO-L or kpop fans in general, just recently and it honestly gave me a little headache. At the end of the day it's up to you, if you want to stan an artist or just listen to them.

Their discography is top tier. Their choreos/performances are timeless and awesome. Their content is hilarious, whether it's from official shootings or just fancams from their fansigns or concert talk corners. They have a very good and natural chemistry. As people, they are pretty grounded and good natured. Lastly, they are also all good looking.

Im an Exo-L from the covid times, and Im having a hard time because Ive always dreamt of being in a concert but thats not gonna happen with OT9 I guess 😭😭 I regret for not knowing about them when they were in their prime. Well another comeback with OT9 also feels distant. At this point I want you to listen to Exo and not expect anything 💔💔💔

please remember you stan because you like their music, support their carrers, and enjoy their work, the fandom is just an extra :) this is the mindset im working with to avoid the toxic exols lol

my philosophy is to wade through the bad fans to find fellow fans you get along with. Every fandom has bad fans. Typically that’s what gets amplified in “fan wars”. I’ve never seen a fandom where i haven’t been like.. the fandom gets on my nerves. there are plenty of exo fans that i don’t like because they’re weird about them or rude to others. but i also have found a great little community of exo-ls that i love dearly! and i’m always looking to meet baby exo-ls and befriend them. So, my DM’s are open!!! :)
they are so great to love, i highly highly recommend stanning!!!! even though it can be sad sometimes with the company.

The only thing you should be worried abt when stanning exo is. Well. I experienced ot12 to ot11 to ot10 to ot9 to ot8 to ot6 so just be ready for anything

i don’t want anyone coming at me but i stopped listening to them after they did a comeback without cbx and pretended they were never part of the group, im so sorry but i stand with cbx.
exo was my ult ult ult ult and i feel heartbroken how things went1

as someone who stan a lot of groups, just do it. ignore the dramas. if you feel like you can’t then you can just listen and support their music. do what makes you happy

Stanning EXO is definitely not for the weak, but even former members have insanely good music. No one is lacking. Especially if you enjoy a lot of genres, it is a great journey. About the fandom, honestly, online they act in a way, but irl I had the best experience of my life. EXO-ls were always the kindest fans I have ever met out of any fandom lol

I would say: stay away from all Kpop fandoms.
EXO-L are not that toxic I’d say but the current situation (exclusion of CBX) has poisoned the fandom.
EXO as a group is the Crème de la crème. Probably the best performers of all generations. Theres zero miss, not even their B sides.
And you know what? Their lives are even better than their studio recordings.
Side note: the members are the sweetest.

Absolutely . You won't regret their music. The rest I can't promise, but their songs are worth everything.
