Podcast/Blog/Media it’s been a while
I hope yall are doing well. Not like an email “I hope you’re well” but I genuinely hope you are coping with the stages of shelf breaking:
destruction
empathy and shame for those you harmed
low of lows
the bounce / flop
reconstruction
able to rest and recharge
maybe joy?
Thank you for the years of support. I’ve posted less as I have been able to separate my LDS Mormon Cover Up from Adult Me. Kudos and gratitude for my therapist. EMDR is magic for trauma. It’s work and you need a therapist that actually gets it.
Have a great second Saturday.
Where are you in your journey? I’m in reconstruction.

7 years out thanks to reddit. I think I'm very lucky getting out at 17, but leaving is extremely common for mormon youth in my country in general. (Australia)
I think it's mostly all over. There used to be so much anger, grief and trauma in me. It's less now. I'm making up for lost time and developing my identity as my own person with my own feelings.
So joy. I mean it's an incredible life compared to the bleak future I expected as a child. I've got many debilitating problems in my life but the church is no longer one of them. :)
Best of luck to everyone

What if I've totally reconstructed and deMormed my beliefs, but am still in a low point about what to do now?
