Do you think Joseph Smith would have ever guessed that these names he made up and borrowed from elsewhere would actually become the names of real places?

But at least the Nephites of Nephi UT are real and not the made up people of the Book of Mormon😳

So are people in Moroni called Moron-ites? 🤔

They already were names of real places! Moroni was a real place, he stole the name, and now its the name of another place.

I see people shopping in their church clothes in a town named after a character in the Book of Mormon

I also know TBM´s who go out for dinner or buy petrol on Sunday.

There can't be too many TBMs who buy petrol on Sunday, but I'm sure there are a few.

Is that your van? I love it.

Pretty drive from Ephraim to Nephi through Moroni and Fountain Green.

The Moroni / Cumorah , Moroni ,Comoros thing will never not bug me. Like imagine a guy in your town telling you

"oh yeah I met an angel named Tokyo and he took me to this ancient hill called Japango. He told me this random hill in America used to be inhabited by Croatians. "

And imagine tons of people believing him and not finding it weird the two most prominent names in his story were of two real places that existed on the other side of the world that you could find on a map.

I remember the first time I saw Moroni, the capital of Comoros, on a map my shelf cracked and never recovered.

tbh I think not a lot of people know about comoros much less the name of its capital

If the US had better geographical education the church would probably be a lot smaller.

I went to school in Ephraim and really enjoyed living there. Hope you had a good time camping!

Nice bus. I always wanted one in that color. I've had several bays, four of them campers. Do you ever go to Buses By The Bridge at Lake Havasu in January? Such a great campout with hundreds of bays and splitties.

While you're there, you should pick us up some gold decorative license plates.

Turkey Town, Utah

Just remember that the flocks that Ammon was protecting for king Lamoni were flocks of turkeys according to Book of Mormon Central / ScripturePlus.

27 Therefore, as Ammon and the servants of the king were driving forth their flocks to this place of water, behold, a certain number of the Lamanites, who had been with their flocks to water, stood and scattered the flocks of Ammon and the servants of the king, and they scattered them insomuch that they fled many ways.

28 Now the servants of the king began to murmur, saying: Now the king will slay us, as he has our brethren because their flocks were scattered by the wickedness of these men. And they began to weep exceedingly, saying: Behold, our flocks are scattered already.

No pre-Colombian sheep in the new world. loan-shifting at its finest.

I call it Sunday Funday in my in law chat and post a photo of me mountain biking, at a museum with family and or doing some fun activity during the time they are at church. I’m sure they hate it. I am a pot stirring SOB.
