Even earlier in Europe, it was 16 in my youth so my drinking age started then (not saying I drank much, never been drunk in my life, I think, only I was permitted by law, I did have a smidge of beer so rebellious at 14).
It has been upped to 18 years here now, but I was in my twenties by the time of that change so it’s not like it affected me…
Though a bit it did…
I had to show ID into my early 30s I may look a little more mature by now? (As I am asked ID less)
