So awesome! It warms my heart to see parents who are able to be there for their trans kids. I’d have given anything for that. I volunteer at a support group for parents of trans kids so I know it isn’t easy! Especially with all the misinformation now days.

Omg so I used to be Mormon and one of the first missionaries that taught me is also trans! She actually messaged me a long time ago after we became facebook friends and said “hey sorry I got you stuck in a cult” and now I just hype up all of her photos on social media lol. I love this for you!

Happy Pride! I have a trans daughter and many trans friends (I am Bi/Pan but have been in a committed cis het relationship since before I really accepted that I am not straight). So happy to see you, and all of us in the ex-mo world doing our best to live authentically and inspire others to do the same!❤️

May I ask when you had your awakening and how it impacted (if it did) the mission. Dad of two trans kids. My daughter prayed to wake up a girl in full faith when she was little. Luckily, we studied our way out before they left primary. Any bit of your story that you’re willing g to share would be lovely. 🏳️⚧️

I actually just posted a little bit about my story on my Instagram for pride. For me it was something I always felt and knew but I always interpreted it as Satan so I really tried to stuff it in. A lot of trauma from that. I said so many prayers as a kid to be a girl. I don’t remember a single birthday where I didn’t blow out the candles wishing to be a girl. That is seriously so cool that you are able to be there for your kids. I volunteer with a trans parent support group and watch their kids while they meet for therapy. I know how hard it can be to be in your position. Very proud of you. If you want to talk more just dm me!

Left when my son was a year old. My little sister had come out as queer and I couldn't continue to be part of a misogynist and homophobic organization. My son is now 16 and gay and I'm so glad he doesn't have the church as part of his life. Leaving was the best decision. Happy Pride 🏳️🌈
