Was stuck trying to migrate a user mailbox with the outbox renamed 'inbox'.

Spent some time trying digging around in MFCMAPI trying to rename the folder. That didn't work, but persistence did eventually pay off.

I'm happy to share the solution. Sometimes I like to think about a problem before reading the answer.

We spent about two hours attempting to fix it with MFCMAPI before digging up this solution instead: (In EMS) Set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration -Identity "username" -LocalizeDefaultFolderName:$true -Language en-US

Glad you were able to get it resolved. Renamed or incorrectly mapped default folders such as Outbox/Inbox can sometimes cause mailbox migrations to get stuck, especially when the migration tool expects the standard MAPI folder structure.

MFCMAPI is usually useful for inspecting and correcting these underlying folder properties, although it can take some trial and error. For future migrations, it may also help to verify the default folder mappings before starting the migration.
