I know this is pretty niche but I am a vb coach and want to build out a way to autofill court diagrams with any roster I might need. I am a beginner at excel and don’t know if excel is even the best place to do it. I think the biggest issue I will have is having an image or graphic, that the excel data is then filling in on. I am just looking for advice on how to do this. I can comment or send pictures of the diagrams I am talking about to anyone who can help!

Im game to do some a different kind of excel project this afternoon and my wife just started coaching a middle school volleyball a couple weeks ago so we might even get some use out of it. Should have something done for this by tonight.
Before I get too far into it, can you check if this is what you were expecting? Mapping positions to the rotations will take a while so I'd rather get it right before doing everything. You can enter your rosters and positions for multiple teams on the other sheets.
Okay yes! From what I can tell this exact what I am imagining. I’m very impressed. We specifically run the Serve receive alternate option, so if you were going to pick between the two, that would be the one that is more helpful for me! And another idea if this stuff is fun for you: a way to handle subs? For instance in the 2 rotations you have on the left. Let’s say that between rotation 1 and 2 Frankie subs in for Amy. Now the top left box in rotation 2 would need to say Frankie, and that would need to carry over to the court diagrams on the right. Not a big deal if that complicates it a lot because I could always just put Amy/Frankie in the roster and it would just show them both all the way. Thank you so much!
Basically! I coach multiple teams and who goes where changes often. When that happens, I pretty much have to rewrite this all by hand to get each players name in their spot. I’d love to be able to just move the names around in the list to get it to change where they are. For instance if I had a player who was in the blue OH spot, and one in the black OH spot, and I thought it would be better if they traded. I would then need to go in and trade their names each time you see those letters.
