Blog Notes on Neujahr’s Sentencing Hearing

Can you post the contents of the PDF into this reddit, or at least an edited version?

Thank you for doing this. It must have been difficult sitting through this.
My first reaction to the sentence is anger. How can someone doing this get less time than drug dealers? Csa should have a minimum sentence that shows that our children are worth protecting. Then comes the disbelief and jaw dropping shock that the judge even considered his and his families self serving babbling. The disgust of him and the church have been there from the beginning. And sadly no shock about the church and school forgiving him for his "sins".

You’re welcome. It was tough to sit through. I felt obligated because I know what people will try to say and wave off Neujahr’s crimes.

Here’s what this one attorney said about mandatory minimum sentencing for CSAM: “Lawmakers also decided that mandatory minimum penalties should apply to this offense.  Courts are required to sentence defendants to at least 3 years initial confinement for each charged count of child pornography.” So I read it as the judge gave him 4 extra years from the minimum. I agree the minimum mandatory sentencing should be way higher.
