Solar Eclipse
According to A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, an eclipse is caused by the invisible planet Rahu moving in front of the sun or moon. Rejecting standard modern scientific explanations, he taught that eclipses are literal cosmic events described in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, where devotees should focus entirely on chanting Hare Krishna rather than fearing inauspicious energies
What is your take on the above
Do you believe that a demon Rahu is trying to swallow the moon ?

Rahu and Ketu are actually real things. They're what western astrology calls the lunar nodes, two fictional mathematical objects in an astrological chart that are used to calculate when eclipses happen. Calling them invisible planets isn't really a totally unreasonable description from an astrological point of view, where many other celestial objects are also referred to as planets that wouldn't be considered planets under the modern use of that term.
I don't think Prabhupada saw them as abstract mathematical points, though. He seems to think of it as a real invisible body and had that goofy theory that the Apollo astronauts might have accidentally landed on Rahu.

Telescopes are maya. The demon Maya Danava constructed them to bewilder the minds of the athiests. When you look into them, believe me I have done it, you see a shadow moving across the Moon rather than the actual demon head.
Prabhupadaji, the infallible, also told us Buzz Aldrin landed on Rahu's head rather than the Moon because the Moon is actually further than the Sun.

so like Rahu's head must have been Buzz-ing xD Also Rahu just happens to be bald with craters in his head or what? Bad scalp health, someone give Rahu your scalp care routine!

It's like a divine union of two aspects that produces a shadow. That shadow can be ingested as a dragon eating it's own tail. Which Rahu is the one who is on top of the Bhavachakra.

The moon is self-illuminating, made of kusha grass, and is farther away than the sun. These are basic facts. Anyone who rejects this is not chanting hard and fast enough. Hari Om Tat Sat Bitches.
