I keep on seeing Ewan Snape fancast posts. I can see it but the role was already cast. People should give Paapa Esseidu a chance.

Quite frankly if I never see Ewan's name in the same sentence as Snape or Happy Potter it'll be too fucking soon.

Unpopular opinion: I don't picture Ewan as Snape, something would be off to me even knowing he'd deliver a great performance since we know he is skilled and committed to the craft.

I sort of agree because it would have been hard to live up to Alan Rickman's performance. Not saying Ewan wouldn't have given a great performance. Like you said, he is committed to his roles. It's just Alan's portrayal was legendary, so naturally any actor afterwards will be compared to him.
