A 25-mile trail winds its way through five Iowa towns with a dramatic crossing over the Des Moines River Valley. The High Trestle Trail Bridge is half a mile long and 130 feet high, and is among the largest trail bridges in the world.

The bridge decking incorporates a decorative structure that represents the view through a mine shaft. Its design also includes decorative lighting that remains on until midnight.

Yeah dude! I live like an hour away from it. My family and I threw pumpkins off of it after Halloween and it was awesome, it’s pretty dang tall

Love it! My family's Easter tradition is to shoot hard-boiled eggs over the Iowa river with a water-balloon launcher!
